Parent Child Educator at Heartland Head Start:  

The reason I chose this job is because our parents now needs to be educated on what to expect when having a child. Nowadays you have parents that don’t enroll their children in free programs.
This position provides child development services, social services, health services and parent involvement services to families including home visits, socializations, advocacy and crisis intervention in accordance with federal, state, and program guidelines.

The PCE is responsible for delivering prenatal education, working with pregnant women and delivering home-based education services to infants & toddlers.

Minimum qualifications are:  Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in ECE; Current Infant/Toddler Credential from Gateways (or in process); and First Aid/CPR certification within 3 months of hire. This position requires regular driving.

duties include (a) recruits and enroll children with various disabilities, (b) maintains ten percent enrollment of children with special needs, (c) implements individualized educational plans (d) works with parents of children with disabilities. (e) work with the teachers on children with challenges in the classroom and outside the classroom.



B.A/B.S. in Special Education or Early Childhood disorders or (12 hours) course work such as psychology/human development, behavioral science from an accredited university. A minimum of one year experience working with preschool children comprising children with various disabilities in a classroom setting, or similar setting.

CPCD provides more than 1,800 children living in poverty or challenged by special circumstances with an early childhood education through Head Start, Early Head Start and the Colorado Preschool Program. But we arent just a free preschool. Our additional health, dental and family support services ensure that children enrolled in our programs are ready to succeed in school and life!

The Development Officer provides project management and support to a broad scope of development, communications and events efforts. The Officer will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors, with primary responsibility for individual donors; maintains relationships with donors and prospects; supports fundraising special projects and strategies; development initiatives, community awareness activities and goal setting. This position offers an opportunity to join an energetic and entrepreneurial team that embraces creative and innovative approaches to development. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Knowledge of local philanthropic community strongly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • BA in Business, Business Administration, Human Services or related field.
  • Must have two years demonstrated successful experience in resource development and fundraising.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination and execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to network and build relationships with individual, agencies, corporations, and other stakeholders.
