Education has a place at the heart of society as an essential vehicle for cultivating intercultural and interdisciplinary understanding and cooperation. Education advocacy can be particularly effective through the use of diplomatic skills within a broader framework of Education Diplomacy—the cross-disciplinary, transnational sharing of theories, ideas, and concepts that advance education. Through Education Diplomacy, we can catalyze education reform and human advancement. It is an approach to the education profession that requires continuous knowledge gathering, creation, and sharing; an awareness of oneself as much as an appreciation of relationships with others; and sensitivity to the contextual and cultural complexities to theory and practice in the field. - See more at: http://acei.org/advocacy/advocacy#sthash.pI0sNIi0.dpuf

  1. Hi Chaundrea!

I absolutely love this site! the ACEI is a wonderful place to explore how children and child care is processed on the international level. I have been keeping up with this site as well & recently received an email about a HUGE childcare summit they have coming up next year. They are currently accepting proposals focused on sustainability, social innovation & synergy! I really wish I could attend - just think of all the impressive knowledge we could learn from other countries that aren't so caught up on money & budgets but completely focused on the whole well-being of the child?! Awesome!!

  2. Hi Chaundrea,
I believe any agency that supports the global community, the education and development of children from birth through early adolescence as well as influences the professional growth of educators and the efforts of others who are committed to the needs of children would be a career I would certainly like to become a part of.
