National Forum of Early Childhood Policy and Programs

National Forum of Early Childhood Policy and Programs is the article that I read about on the website. The Forum was established to complement the Council’s work, which aims to explain why public investments should be made in the early childhood years. The Forum attempts to answer what those investments should be and how they should be made, and, to that end, it assesses and interprets program evaluation research. Currently, the Forum is building a comprehensive meta-analytic database on intervention services from the prenatal period to age five, including assessments of early care and education and family support programs. I think that this program will help children along the way when growing up.

  1. Hi Chaundrea,

I believe it would be a good idea for public investments to put money towards early childhood. Studies have shown that it does make a difference when children are able to get the opportunities to succeed early and not be a statistic later on in life. There are quite a few states that put money into early childhood. Intervention does help not only the child succeed, but it helps the families as well. Thanks for your insight.

  2. Hello Chaundrea,
I had the opportunity to scan the same article. I think developing the forum was a good idea. Eventhough, the most common person should be aware of the importance of public funding and investments in early childhood programs, it is sometimes necessary to put it in black and white for every one to see. Some people need to have all of the ands, ifs and buts written out in plain English per se. I also think that it is a good idea that they are also assessing and evaluating the program based upon research, as well as the early care and education and family support programs. Every little bit helps. The more organizations put funds into early care, the closer we will get to helping each family needs assistance and support.

  3. Hi Chaundrea,
I was unable to locate your post about Getting to Know Your International Contacts-Part 3. Did you set up a different account? I was having problems with mine, but after several attempts over a few days, it allowed me to make my post. I hope you are not having the same problems, because it was very frustrating for me. I will try back tomorrow. I look forward to reading your post.
