Code of Ethic

Listed below you will find three ideals that was founded in the NAEYC code of ethics that interest me most. The reason why these three were selected is because I believe in helping children. Being a foster child can be hard so I will make sure that the child is safe and also up to date physically, emotionally and mentally. Also, I realize that not all children are the same or come from the same cultural. I will respect that by recognizing their cultural throughout different ways/activities. I will encourage all to get involved in the community and interact because it’s different ways to network in the world and being a people person is one.

I-1.5—To create and maintain safe and healthy settings that foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and Physical development and that respect their dignity and their contributions.

I-1.10—To ensure that each child’s culture, language, ethnicity, and family structure are recognized and Valued in the program.

I-2.9—To participate in building support networks for families by providing them with opportunities to interact with program staff, other families, community resources, and professional services.

  1. Chaundrea,

I really like the ideals that you selected in which they are the most meaningful to you. I feel that the early childhood field is a field in which a person has to have a lot of patience and dedicate themselves to providing a better environment for children and to make sure they are always safe. Developing a network for the families is definitely important because each participant and work closely together to make sure the child is receiving the resources that he or she may need. There has to be a high level of trust established between all parties.

  2. Culture is such in important part of each individual. I like that you chose the ideal on culture. I hope that you are able to share this ideal with your co workers to ensure that this ideal is followed and implemented in your program.

  3. Hello Chaundrea,

The ideals you chose speak to the heart of what we are suppose to do as early childhood educators; "Protect and serve." When it comes to education, we tend to forget that one of our responsibilities is to make children safe. Without the feeling of safety, children cannot learn. Once safety has been established, everything else falls in place.
